What is Awana?
Awana is an international, Bible-centered children's and youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs, programs, and training for students ages 3 through high school. Our goal is to equip churches to reach kids, and their families, with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.
The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.
What is Awana like at Dallas Bay Baptist Church?
We meet every Sunday night, for ages 2 through 5th grade, from 5 - 7 p.m. We hold assembly at 5 p.m. in the LEC which includes opening pledges to the American and Awana flags and opening prayer. The clubbers then go to their respective rooms for Story/Council Time, and Handbook Time where they work on different projects and Scripture memorization/recitation. All clubs also get to enjoy games and snacks as part of each nights club meeting.
